Woman Tased, arrested after vehicle chase
JANESVILLE—Police subdued a Madison woman with a Taser after she led police on a vehicle chase and crashed into a snow bank on the city's west side early Saturday, authorities said.
According to a news release, Janesville police arrested Tanya Kraege, age 33, of Madison, for sixth-offense operating while intoxicated after she led officers on a vehicle pursuit that started near the Five Points intersection on West Milwaukee Street.
A police patrol officer was searching for Kraege after an apparent disturbance at the parking ramp at 13 N. Parker Drive. The officer located her vehicle at Five Points, and tried to get her to stop, but she sped away.
Police followed Kraege into the Look West neighborhood on the west side, where the woman went through a stop sign at West Court Street and North Grant Avenue. Kraege then lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a snow bank, leaving her car in a vacant lot, police said.
Kraege tried to get free from the snow bank and refused to get out of the vehicle, police said. An officer used a Taser to subdue her. She was booked for OWI, fleeing and resisting an officer, police said.
